fn next_deadline(deadline: Instant, now: Instant, period: Duration) -> Instant

Returns the deadline of the tick after the one due at deadline, which fired at now.

Schedules like an interval with MissedTickBehavior::Delay, so that ticks are not shortened and late ticks shift the schedule rather than producing a burst of blocks.
